FrameCalculator
A multi-tenant POS SaaS for framing businesses, built full-stack.

Overview
FrameCalculator is a multi-tenant pricing and point-of-sale tool built for a picture-framing supply business and the independent stores that buy from it. Custom framing pricing is genuinely fiddly: costs vary by material, frame, and glazing, and need to flow through trade and retail markups before a customer ever sees a number, so most shops were quoting by spreadsheet or gut feel. The app gives the supplier one system to manage catalog and pricing centrally, while every store gets a fast, accurate calculator and order workflow on top of it.
My Role & Approach
I designed and built the whole system solo, from data model to deployed product. It's a Next.js App Router app on an Appwrite backend, with a multi-tenant architecture that cleanly separates supplier, store, and organization data. Access control is role-based: supplier admins manage the catalog and view all activity, store staff run the day-to-day calculator and place orders, and read-only organization roles get visibility across a group of stores without edit access. At the core sits a calculator engine that runs cost through trade and retail multipliers using decimal.js for exact pricing math, backed by react-hook-form and Zod for validation, recharts for supplier-facing analytics, and react-pdf for order paperwork.
Outcome
The system is live and in active use as the day-to-day pricing and ordering tool for the supplier and its stores, replacing manual, spreadsheet-based quoting with a consistent, centrally managed pricing chain.
